It’s rare these days to meet someone who doesn’t have a connection to cancer. The reach of the disease is staggering, and far too many lives have been lost. But thankfully, there are so many amazing survival stories too. Having been by my mom’s side through two surgeries and months of treatment, I can tell you that true beauty and strength definitely come from within. One of the best days of my life was the day the doctors told my mom she was cancer-free, and I am endlessly grateful for the incredible care she received. I know full well that many people never reach that day, and that the battle against cancer is an uphill fight.
