When the weather gets cold, my feet are never warm enough in regular shoes. If I’m wearing thick socks and fur-lined boots, then they get pretty close. But, I don’t always want to wear something so clunky just to keep my toes happy. So, after hearing rave reviews of Allbirds wool sneakers from a couple of friends, I decided to check them out. Fortunately for me, Allbirds recently opened a store in Soho (they have one in SF too), and I was able to try them on in person. Let me tell you, these cozy sneakers are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. They’re soft on the inside and the outside, but durable. The wool is moisture-wicking and made to minimize odor and regulate temperature. You can even wear them without socks! The store is also super cute, so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in New York City or San Francisco. As someone who almost always buys things on sale, these shoes cost a bit more than I would normally spend. But, I didn’t hesitant as soon as I felt them on my feet.
This is what I wore for a manicure/lunch date with my best friend yesterday. We’re both headed to a work conference for most of this week and next weekend, so we wanted to take a little time to recharge and treat ourselves before the crazy begins. It was a gray day, so I was all about the cozy vibes. This jacket is made of a sweatshirt-like material, but the structure looks more like a biker jacket, and it works well with a classic black tee.
I’ll be posting less while I’m away this week, but I hope to share some snapshots from the conference. I’m so excited to be back in Boston (I grew up on the South Shore), and although it will be really busy, I’m sneaking out for a couple of fun dinners, including seeing two of my Beantown faves: Linda of Trendy on a Budget and Emily of Shell Chic’d! Hope you have a great week!
