My husband and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago, but we didn’t have a chance for a proper date night until last weekend. Since we live in Manhattan, we should really go out to eat more than we do, but we’re both kind of homebodies and prefer ordering in to our apartment where we can be casual and, of course, hang out with Bones. That said, it’s definitely nice to get dressed up and go out every once in a while! For this particular date night, we decided to try a restaurant that we’ve walked by a million times and never been to. I wanted to wear something fun that was a little sexier than my usual go-tos, and this dress definitely hit the spot. It was a Rent the Runway sample sale find a couple of years ago, and although it’s black and white, it totally makes a statement! I found a couple of more affordable look-alikes, so scroll down to the bottom of the post to check those out.
This weekend, we’re headed to my in-laws for Yom Kippur. It’s the Day of Repentance where Jews reflect on the last year, what they might need to atone for, and how they can be better in the year to come. It’s definitely not the most lighthearted holiday, but I’m always grateful to have the time to really think about the kind of person I want to be. And, now more outfit pics…
