I know some curvy women who only wear pants because they hate showing their legs, and others who can never find a pair of pants that really fit them and would rather wear a skirt or a dress. I fall more in the second category, and I’ve accumulated a particularly impressive collection of flattering skirts for work and play.
A few tips for finding skirts that will make you look and feel good: A-line silhouettes are typically the most flattering, and I suggest looking for a midi length with skinny pleats. Much like vertical stripes, the pleats elongate your frame and create straight lines down from your waist. Another option to flatter your curves is a wrap skirt. Much like a wrap dress, skirts in the same style have the tendency to camouflage exactly what you need them to, draw the eye up, AND make your legs look fab. For fall, both pleated and wrap skirts come in beautiful jewel tones, polished plaid, soft suede and velvet, metallic, and more. Here are some of my favorites under $100:
