Friday Favorites: Honesty

This week, I’m putting a different spin on Friday Favorites. Instead of featuring outfits, I wanted to feature honest blog posts that have really touched my heart this week. Exactly one month ago, I shared what it’s been like for me to be unemployed and spending a lot of time on my own. It was hard to write and nerve-wracking to share, especially in a place where I try to stay upbeat and positive.

As I stressed in my post, the truth is that even the most glamorous, fashionable people are still human. Every single person on this Earth comes across bumps in the road. Just because style bloggers often appear in pretty clothes with gorgeous hair doesn’t mean they’re perfect. It doesn’t mean they don’t have things going on in their lives. In fact, they probably do.

A number of the bloggers I really admire have published incredibly open and honest posts this week. Some were sparked by hurtful comments, and some received them after the fact. It’s hard to put yourself out there as a blogger, even if you’ve done it for years. I give so much credit to these ladies for opening up their hearts this week. I think we all need to be a little more understanding, and remember that at the end of the day, we’re only human.
