Yesterday was one of those days when I didn’t like anything I put on my body. That whole thing about ‘my room was clean until I had to decide what to wear’…that is totally my life, just ask my husband! All joking aside, my ultimate goal when I add something to my wardrobe is that it will be something that will make me look and feel good, but that’s not always the case. We all have days when we feel extra negative about the way we look, and as challenging as it can be, you just have to push through it. Stop thinking about how you used to or could or should look, and embrace yourself as you are today. You are probably your own biggest critic, but even though your own opinion is the only one that really counts, that doesn’t give you the right to bring yourself down.
All that said, the outfit I eventually decided on was a gingham shirt and khaki skirt. It got pretty preppy with the gold loafers too, but there’s nothing wrong with that! (I really love gingham for spring and summer, and I rounded up some more options at the end of the post.) This look was perfect for work and after-work drinks with my friend Leah. We were scouting a place for my milestone birthday at the end of the summer, and I think we might have found the spot!
