Have you ever fallen so in love with a piece of clothing even though it’s totally outside your comfort zone? I’m not really a fan of the cold-shoulder trend (more of an off-the-shoulder girl), and I don’t think I’ve ever owned anything yellow unless it was for school spirit, and yet, when I passed by this lemon print romper at Macy’s, I had to turn around and go back. It was in the junior’s section and it’s from a collection curated by Seventeen Magazine. I’m closer to twice that age now, but despite all of these points against it, I just had to have it. And you know what? I love it! The lemon print is so fun and perfect for summer, and because there’s both elastic and a tie at the waist, it defines and flatters my shape. I actually think the cold shoulder is really fun with the little pom poms. So, lesson learned: don’t be afraid to dress outside your comfort zone!
I wore this little romper out to dinner with my husband during our 4th of July getaway. I’ll be sharing more about where we went, where we stayed and what we did later this week, but let me tell you that there are some amazing restaurants in Rockland County. We snapped these pictures outside of our hotel, which was super chic with eclectic, modern decor. The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life! And, I’m really excited for my next trip in a couple of weeks: a girls’ getaway to a lakeside resort near Austin, TX! Can’t wait to spend some quality time with some of my best friends! Isn’t summer the best?! Where are you headed next? Tell me in the comments!
