As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been trying to take better care of my feet. (#thisis30) I’m really glad that there are so many cute pairs of sneakers that are both fashionable and functional! Styling sneakers is easy, especially if you find a pair you can dress up and dress down. I wore these Nikes to lunch with my mom over the weekend. It was chilly, so I layered a cropped sweatshirt over a button-down and paired them with my favorite jeans. Pro Tip: A great way to get more wear out of your cropped tops is to wear them over long sleeves when it’s cold.
Speaking of cold, we’re expecting more snow in NYC this week. As much as I like living in a place with four seasons, winter definitely gets old quickly. Fall is my favorite season, followed closely by spring and summer. Winter is tough. It’s difficult to motivate myself when the temperatures drop and all the leaves fall from the trees. But, I’ve found a few ways to cope: We always try to schedule a winter getaway to somewhere warm in late January or early February. (Can’t wait to escape to Turks & Caicos in a few weeks!) I make an effort to find new recipes for interesting soups, and other comfort foods that make use of my crock pot, so I can come home and not have to worry about dinner. I also treat myself to cozy clothes and hot chocolate, and make more time to snuggle up with a good book. What do you do to fight off the winter blues?
