Sometimes getting dressed for work can be a challenge. You want to look cute and stylish, but you have to be office appropriate. Although this isn’t one of my most fun looks, it’s pretty typical for my weekdays. The striped top is another summer item that I translated to colder temps. One thing I’m trying to do this year is re-purpose what I already have in my closet. Always looking to emphasize my waist, the wrap of the sweater brought the looser striped top in at the right place, and the striped collar brought the eyes up. Adding pattern under a neutral can be a great way to jazz up an otherwise classic outfit, and you can’t go wrong with colored cords.
Although I prefer to take pictures outside, these were taken after work at Grand Central Station. Even though it was rush hour, it still made a beautiful backdrop!
Striped Top: Forever 21 (similar), Faux-Wrap Sweater: Kohl’s (similar long sleeve), Cords: LOFT (similar), Loafers: MIA, Tote: Coach (similar, although mine came from the outlet), Lip color: Maybelline Gleaming Grenadine
I have a major crush on those loafers, Sam. I might have to get me a pair!
You definitely should! They’re super comfy, and on sale pretty much everywhere right now!
I can’t do this much color. Just… ever. But I love it on other people!
