It’s such joy when I find clothes that I like in petite sizes! For me, it’s not just about length (although not having to get things hemmed is great!) It’s also about overall fit. Seams that line up in the right places, plus waistbands and sleeves that are made for a smaller frame. No matter what size or shape you are, chances are you feel more comfortable in clothes that truly fit your body. They’re more flattering, and you don’t find yourself constantly adjusting. There aren’t a ton of options when it comes to petite summer style, but I have a few reliable favorites.
The Ann Taylor family of brands is always my first stop. They offer a wide variety of options, and if you can’t find a petite size in store, they’ll ship it to you for free. Banana Republic has some things, but I usually find their petite selection is actually better in store than online. One of my more recent discoveries is Talbots. They probably has largest amount online in petites, and the quality is great.
For summer, I’m very into things that are lightweight and easy to wear. Once you have your summer staples, add some pieces to your wardrobe that are a little more fun. There are so many pretty patterns, and the more color the better!
