This Saturday, I spent the day at my first Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic! The event takes place every summer at Liberty State Park, with a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Ferries run from downtown Manhattan, and then there’s a bit of a walk when you get to the other side. Champagne bars and food trucks welcome you to the event, and Veuve’s signature yellow-orange dots the scenery. There were so many beautiful photo ops throughout the park, and I especially loved the pink flowers. Although the polo match itself was fun, the people-watching was pretty incredible too. Everyone goes all out with their outfits, so I thought a lot about what I wanted to wear. In the end, I opted for a lightweight midi dress in the prettiest coral color, and ruffle straps. It was hot and sunny, so I was glad to have my big hat!
My date for the day was my friend Andrea. We met twelve years ago when we were roommates on a summer program during college. We’ve both lived in New York City for most of our post-college years, and although we sometimes go too long without seeing each other, we always have so much fun when we get together.
