The beach is my happy place, and thinking about what to pack in my beach bag before a trip gets me so excited! You don’t want to be carrying too much, but there are some essentials you can’t go without! Here are the things I always have with me:
- Hat: I love a fabulous floppy straw hat, but this denim baseball cap takes up less space and goes with all of my swimsuits. (similar)
- Sunglasses: I’m a sucker for Kate Spade sunglasses, but my trick is to get them at Nordstrom Rack for less. I never want to bring super expensive sunglasses to the beach, just in case something happens.
- Sunscreen: It’s not pictured here because this photo was taken on our last day, but sunscreen is obviously a must. We’ve been using Sun Bum’s SPF 70 for our last couple of beach trips. It’s incredible protection, but you still get tan! Bonus: it smells like bananas!
- Comb: Salt water and chlorine = tangles, so I always like to have a comb on hand. (similar)
- Chapstick: Don’t forget to to take care of your lips! I’ve been very into Chapstick’s Total Hydration Moisture + Tint. It comes in a bunch of different shades and moisturizes. Sun Bum also has one with SPF 30 for extra protection.
- Blotting Papers: If you’re planning to snap a picture on the beach, I highly recommend sticking a pack of these in your bag. Your skin will appreciate it!
- Megababe Thigh Rescue: This stuff was an absolute lifesaver for me this summer, so I knew I had to bring it on vacation. If you’re sick of the inevitable chafing that comes from thicker thighs, do yourself a favor and get on the Megababe train.
- Kindle or Book: I love reading on the beach, and I always have a book and/or my Kindle with me on every trip. I read three books in Turks & Caicos and I’ll be sharing reviews in my next Recent Reads post.
