On Saturday, we spent the day in Queens, barbecuing and enjoying a beautiful summer day with friends. Bones came with us, so I needed to wear something that was suitable for dog-wrangling, but I still wanted to look cute. So, I took a plain white tee and a classic pair of denim shorts and added colorful accessories. I posted a picture of these shoes on Instagram last week, and I was really excited to wear them. They’re a hybrid between espadrilles and sneakers, and I love the colorful pattern. Scroll down for a more detailed photo.
Although Manhattan definitely has its charms, it’s nice to spend time in the outer boroughs. Astoria, Queens is almost suburban in some ways, with a more neighborhood-like feel, but it still has the grit of the city. Astoria Park along the water is the perfect spot to soak up the sun on a summer afternoon, and the views are pretty spectacular!
